Food Mission Outreach

  • Grace AME's Women's Missionary Outreach 67 Winters Ln Catonsville, MD 21228 USA (map)

If you’ve ever thought about taking local action to fight hunger, this is your chance to get involved! Come to Grace AME Church — bring your canned goods, and Paul Dongarra will be there to help you unload and introduce you to the dedicated organizers behind this powerful outreach mission.

Grace AME holds a special place in Paul’s heart — he first met the congregation back in 2010, when his wife Rebecca ran for this office. The friendships that began then led to a meaningful partnership between Grace AME and Catonsville Presbyterian Church, which ultimately inspired the creation of the Dismantling Racism Committee — a bridge of faith, service, and shared purpose.

Over the years, Paul has worked to serve our most vulnerable neighbors — helping to install two vegetable gardens at the local homeless shelter, participating in Homeless Censuses, supporting the Lazarus Caucus our local homeless shelter’s support organization as a major donor for years, and even hiring and mentoring men from that very shelter to help them rebuild their lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling with food insecurity, there are resources available to help.

Most of all, know that you are not alone. Food insecurity is a growing challenge in our community, and there is no shame in needing help. We are all in this together — and together, we’ll get through it.

“Serving is part of my core being — and one of the main reasons I’m running for office: to be a humble servant of the people.” Paul Dongarra
